We’re excited to share some fantastic progress from the past few days! Thanks to the incredible joint efforts of Bubele Africa and the CraigPark Residents’ Association (CRA), the Braamfontein Spruit at Delta Park is looking cleaner and more beautiful than ever. The heavy rains from a few weeks ago left behind significant trash, but together, we’ve managed to clear nearly all of it, restoring this cherished natural space.
If you have not already seen the progress, here are some pictures of the before and after which don’t even do it justice!
Beyond cleanup, we’re working on a robust trash screen system to be installed upstream in a discreet, accessible location. This solution, developed in collaboration with the City of Johannesburg, will capture litter before it flows downstream, making regular maintenance more efficient.
To bring this project to life, we’re calling on volunteers with mechanical design skills to assist in the design phase. If this sounds like you—or someone you know—please get in touch. Your expertise could make a lasting impact!
