Contributions – the engine behind the CRA
Protect and improve
The CraigPark Residents’ Association exists to help protect and improve the quality of life in Craighall, Craighall Park and the incorporated parts of Dunkeld West.
The CRA is a registered, non-profit residents’ association run by volunteer residents. Its work includes representing residents, monitoring matters that affect the area, supporting service delivery follow-up, helping with town planning and heritage processes, and working to protect the residential character and liveability of our suburbs.
This work benefits the whole community, but it can only continue if enough residents contribute.
Your contribution matters
Why your contribution matters
The CRA represents a large area of more than 3 000 properties. The greater the support from residents and businesses, the stronger the CRA’s mandate and voice when dealing with the City, service providers and other authorities.
Your monthly contribution helps the CRA to:
- Protect the residential nature of the area
- Represent community interests
- Monitor important local issues
- Support town planning and heritage oversight
- Improve local communication and coordination
- Maintain a stronger, more organised community voice
- Fund the work needed to respond properly to matters affecting the suburb
A residents’ association only works when residents support it. If the benefit is shared by everyone, the responsibility should be shared too.
Membership options
CRA membership is open to people who are 18 years or older and who are owners or occupiers of land or buildings within the CRA area.
Current membership options are:
Individual membership
CRA uses PayStack to facilitate members contributions. We previously used PayFast which unfortunately starting becoming less reliable. If you are still linked to PayFast, you do not need to take immediate action. We will run PayFast and PayStack in parallel for a period while members gradually move across. If you would like assistance in moving over to PayFast, please contact us.
An EFT option is also available for residents who prefer not to use card payments.
Individual Membership
R100 per month
For individual residents who want to support the CRA and help strengthen the community.
Senior citizen or complex resident membership
R50 per month
A reduced monthly contribution for senior citizens and residents living in complexes.
Business membership
R150 per month
For businesses operating in the area that want to support a well-managed, safe and stable neighbourhood.
Complexes and estates
If you would like to sign up as a complex or estate, the CRA can assist with monthly billing for the whole complex. Please contact:
Does everyone in the household need to sign up?
No. Each person can choose whether to sign up.
That said, the CRA encourages as many residents as possible to contribute. The more residents who participate, the stronger and more effective the CRA can be.
Want to do more?
Financial support is essential, but residents can also contribute their time and skills.
You can get more involved by:
- Becoming a street representative
- Joining the CRA Committee
- Helping with a specific CRA portfolio or sub-committee
The roles are manageable and community-focused, and every extra pair of hands helps.
