Mandela Day, on the 18th July, calls for South Africans to embrace the nationwide campaign to get involved in charitable activities.

Embrace the day and if you are looking for ideas on how to spend your 67 minutes, why not consider these charities operating within our neighbourhood:

During July, as part of Mandela Month, Straight from the Ground is raising month to support the REEA Foundation by donating produce they procure from small-scale farmers. Thereby supporting the local economy and providing clean, healthy food to the adult housed at the care centre.

Support this great initiative by purchasing your organic vegetable box today!

Would you consider ‘donating’ your time, energy and resources to assist needy people living in our community?

Cross the Divide is a registered NPO that works with partners to change the lives of the homeless in our community. We feed up to 130 people on a Wednesday morning at 11am at the Craighall Scout Hall on Hamilton Avenue.

Would you be able to help by cooking a pot of good, nutritious food to be served on Wednesday 19th July? If so please contact:

Sue Winkler 083 380 8799/ Dianne Webb 082 854 2583

Donations are also welcome!
