A land use application has been submitted for 51 Buckingham Avenue, Craighall Park.
The owner is applying to:
- Rezone the property to permit medium-density residential development of up to 10 dwellings
- Remove restrictive title deed conditions to allow development rights to change
- Construct a two-storey residential building
What is being proposed
According to the application documents:
- The site will accommodate 10 dwelling units
- Two storeys in height
- On-site parking is proposed
- The property falls within the existing Buckingham Avenue neighbourhood node, where some intensification is anticipated under City policy
CRA Position
For the reasons outlined by our professional town planner, the CRA will not be submitting an objection to this application. The scale and residential nature of the proposed development appear reasonable and in line with the surrounding node, and we cannot object to every development where the use is appropriate and proportional.
